A range of contacts were done with local stakeholders and users of Gyaros

During the past week numerous contacts and meeting were held with stakeholders from professional and amateur fishermen, hunters and representatives of the tourist sector such as the Chamber of Cyclades. The representatives of the main users and stakeholders of the region of Gyaros were informed on the latest news of the CYCLADES LIFE project and the impending beginning of the Consortium of Stakeholders of Gyaros. During the constructive meetings the local stakeholders expressed their interest about the region and some of their concerns on the future management plans  and how these will affect the existing human activities. The CYCLADES LIFE team highlighted the need to engage local communities for the appropriate planning and the efficient design of the management measures that will be agreed among the members of the Consortium that will be operational in the next period.
