The first training seminar for professional fishermen took place on May the 26th in Ermoupolis, Syros. The seminar was organised by the Development Corporation of the Aegean together with WWF Greece. During the seminar, fisheries biology issues were covered as well as legal and funding tools that can ensure economic sustainability but also environmental conservation for years to come. The seminar was attended by small scale professional fishermen and also officials from the local Agricultural and Veterinary Services of the Prefecture of Southern Aegean.
