MOm’s Field Team have modified a prototype underwater “drop” tethered camera in order to utilise it in acquiring a more detailed reference and knowledge of the Octopus vulgaris habitat and in the selection process of the suitable substrate for the placement of the artificial dens. Furthermore, assessment visits were conducted by MOm’s field team to the island of Gyaros, in order to check all monk seal pupping and resting caves and beaches on the island. Four more infrared digital cameras were installed in order to achieve better coverage and detailed access to the seal breeding sites.
